About Emma

I’m Dr.  Emma Jones, a pediatrician, career coach, and advocate for heart-centered doctors who feel stuck in the grind of academic medicine. I spent the first part of my career working in some of the most prestigious institutions in the country, where I saw firsthand how the academic playbook prioritizes metrics over meaning.

As a mother and mentor, I deeply value education and training the next generation, but I often felt invisible—overworked, undervalued, and torn between my career and my family.

After years of reflection, I finally stepped away from the system to craft a career that aligns with my values, prioritizes my well-being, and allows me to make a meaningful impact.

Now, I help other heart-centered doctors reclaim their purpose, realign their careers, and rewrite their stories to create fulfilling, balanced lives.

Is this really for me?

Are you...

  • Pouring everything you have into your career, but no matter how hard you work, it feels like it’s never enough.
  • You love your patients and you’re passionate about teaching, but the endless RVU quotas, meetings, and grant deadlines leave you wondering if your work even matters.
  • You’re juggling so many responsibilities that your voice feels drowned out, and despite all your accomplishments, you still feel invisible in the system.
  • At home, it’s no easier. You’re physically there, but your mind is running through tomorrow’s to-do list.
  • You miss the days when you and your spouse were a real team—now it feels like you’re just two exhausted people passing each other in the chaos, trying to keep everything from falling apart.
  • When you miss a soccer game, you  spend the next three days spiraling—wondering if your child will end up in therapy because of it and imagining the entire town debating your parenting skills

If any of this sounds familiar, this is definitely for you!

Imagine the Transformation You Could Have...

  • You wake up feeling clear and confident about your career for the first time in years.

  •  Instead of drowning in overwhelm, you have a roadmap that aligns your work with your values—and it feels energizing, not draining.

  • At the office, you focus on what matters most, whether that’s mentoring trainees, connecting with patients, or taking on projects that inspire you.
  • You’re no longer chasing RVUs or deadlines; you’re building a career that works for you.
  • At home, it’s a different story too. You’re present for your family, whether it’s cheering at soccer games or laughing over dinner.
  • That constant guilt? Gone. You and your spouse feel like a team again, sharing the load and enjoying the quiet moments that used to slip away in the chaos.

This is what’s possible when you take the time to reflect, clarify your values, and make decisions with purpose.

You’ll get a taste of this clarity and hope during Should I Stay or Should I Go?—a workshop designed to help you evaluate your career, explore your options, and start crafting a future you’ll love.
